![]() ![]() ![]() I was all for single mass flywheels but after having to do two clutch changes in quick succession I wish I hadn't been. In the end I have a good clutch with stock biting point that works as it should, nice smooth gear changes as they should be. I was up at 3am for work till 10.20 am straight from work to the garage, and was finally finished about 6.00pm, a long day especially working alone. I had to do the job on Tuesday as the DMR kit had to be returned before Friday 10th March. The friction plate was supposed to be next day delivery for orders placed and paid for before 2.00pm but it wasn't! Instead it was posted on the day it was supposed to arrive (Friday) this meant it wasn't here for the weekend when I planned to do the job as this is my only transport. I got a dual mass flywheel and pressure plate off a 50,000 mile B7 A4, in good condition, all it needed was a little rub with some wet and dry, I ordered a new friction plate and clutch release bearing (LUK) This fits on the B5 S4 & C5 A6 2.7T models. to match our flywheels, supplied fixings are Zinc Plated with antivibration washers. I decided that it would be better to replace the kit with used genuine Audi parts rather than dubious parts of unknown quality. The TTV Lightweight Steel Flywheel is machined to provide a higher clamping force than that of the B5 RS4, making it an ideal choice for improved performance. TSR / TTV 2.0 TFSI 02Q 6Speed Twin plate clutch and flywheel kit. used b5 s4/rs4 clutch kit (ttv flywheel, b7 rs4 modified) Share. This mount is designed to be used with our. The kit has 15k km in it mostly highway driving so it is perfectly fine. It flaxes and potentially adds to vibration in rotating assembly. TTVR BMW 5 Speed Hydraulic Concentric Slave Mount. Essentially a b5 Rs4 pressure plate, flywheel and then unsprung 6 puck. I fitted the kit and never even got to the bottom of the drive and I felt vibrations.OH NO! Thinking it maybe needed a few miles on it I kept driving it, anything between 20-30 mph in either 2nd or 3rd resulted in a horrible vibration through the whole car, not good ! It could be avoided by holding the gears for longer but that's a compromise I was unwilling to make, overall, clutch take up wasn't much of an improvement over what I already had before, so I made a complaint to the seller.Ī few messages back and forth convinced the seller I actually knew what I was talking about and all credit to them, I was offered a full refund with return postage paid as well. Guys I was wondering whether a ttv flywheel, b7 Rs4 pressure plate and unsprung 6 puck b5 disc would work well. This sandwich should be tighter than this, right?Īm I over thinking this, or will the PP adequately compensate for the difference? The last thing I want is to pull this again, obviously.So.my dual mass flywheel was knackered and I had clutch judder pulling away, I'd had enough of it! I bought a DMR dual mass replacement kit, which consisted of a single mass flywheel, a pressure plate and friction plate and also a clutch release bearing. Typically such a gap would be a worry sign that may result in a weak pedal or slipping clutch, due to the clutch & PP needing to push and sustain hold 1.5mm further than typical. With the stock clutch and stock flywheel:Īre the PP mounting points on the TTV 1.5mm too high? Anyone running this combo I am about to pull the trigger on it and wanted to see from people running it how they like it. ![]() I'll use the stock clutch to demonstrate, as it highlights the concern clearly. This is due to their being a 1.5mm difference in offset from the friction surface and PP mating surface vs the stock flywheel. When sandwiching the entire assembly of TTV Flywheel, FX400 Disk and CM Pressure Plate, there is an evident 1.5mm gap where one would typically expect a clutch and PP mounting point to be relatively flush. We've measured & checked numerous times, but I wouldn't mind some input. I am running their 2.7T single mass flywheel on my b5 s4 and am very happy with it. Figured I'd post this here rather than in my build thread, as I need some confirmation quickly to avoid holding up the engine going back in. Hi All, I have a TTV racing flywheel BNIB for those running an S4/rs4 clutch upgrade. ![]()
